I got to shoot this extended family session at one of my favorite places to shoot in San Diego, Scripps Pier. This beach never fails me! You can’t go wrong with the beautiful scenery that La Jolla has to offer, and you absolutely have to get the obligatory “under-the-pier” shot.

This lovely family had recently moved to San Diego and wanted to capture some family photos in their new home. We had a lot of fun playing in the waves! And I tried my best to keep up with this sweet little boy who had an amazing time splashing around in the waves. I love photographing energetic kids because you can get the most amazing actions shots as they run around.

Even though the day was cloudy, Mother Nature still gave us some beautiful skies for their sunset beach shoot. One thing I always like to stress to my clients is that you don’t need to have clear blue skies to get amazing photos. This blog post will explain why cloudy days can actually be ideal for beach photo shoots.
